Description

The patented “Quick-Fix” system makes it easy to mount the electric gate keep on the surface. Easily replaceable with “SA” keeps. Can be connected to 12-24 V and AC / DC power supplies. Modulec-SA is available in two versions: E (Emissa – Fail Close) and R (Ruptura – Fail Open). Specifications:

• The electric strike shall be available in a standard version and a security version.
• The electric strike shall be available in a fail close and fail open version.
• It shall be able to connect the electric strike to third party access control devices.
• The electric strike shall allow a 15mm (9/16”) deep locking of the latch bolt.
• The electric strike shall allow a 25mm (1”) deep locking of the night bolt.
• The stop plate of the electric strike shall be available in RAL 6005, 7016, 9005 and in a version without coating.
• The electric strike shall be mounted on profiles of minimal 40mm (1 – 1/2”).
• The electric strike shall be adjustable for gate profiles from 40 – 60mm (1 – 1/2″ – 2 – 1/2″).
• The electric strike lock should be designed and manufactured in Europe or in the United States.

PERFORMANCE

• The electric strike shall resist a 300kg (660 lbs) pressure on the latch bolt.
• The electric strike shall have been tested for 500.000 movements.
• The manufacturer warranty shall be 2 years.

INSTALLATION

• The electric strike shall have pre-mounted fasteners with stainless steel bolts.
• No welding shall be required to mount the electric strike.
• The electric strike shall allow an easy left or right installation.
• A 3D-installation explanatory video shall be available to assist the installer.

ELECTRICAL

• The electric strike shall have the following electrical requirements
  • Voltage: 12V-24V AC/DC
  • Consumption: 12V – 1,25A / 24V – 0,62A
  • Power: 15W

MATERIAL

• The electric strike shall be made of a corrosion-resistant black anodised housing.
• The housing of the electric strike shall be made from extruded and anodized aluminium, (no wet painting or anodization).
• The electric strike shall have a corrosion resistance of 500h salt spray according to ISO9227.
• The electric strike shall be fully weather- and dustproof.
• The electric strike shall have an UV-resistance against discoloration of 500h.

Ruptura – Fail Open scenario: in the event of a power failure or malfunction in the electrical control system, the gate keep will automatically release, facilitating effortless manual gate opening. This feature ensures unobstructed exit pathways for safety, thereby permitting individuals to leave the area even during power outages or similar issues. Moreover, this fail-open functionality ensures that individuals can exit without obstruction, promoting safety during emergencies.

Emissa – Fail Close scenario: when a power failure or electrical malfunction occurs, the gate keep will promptly engage, effectively securing the gate in a closed position. This configuration is primarily employed for enhancing security measures, robustly deterring unauthorized access even in situations where power supply is disrupted. Furthermore, the fail-close mechanism serves as a reliable safeguard against potential breaches.

When considering the choice between E (Emissa – Fail Close) and R (Ruptura – Fail Open), it crucially hinges upon the specific requirements and priorities of the given scenario. Opting for Fail Open emphasizes convenient exit and safety, ensuring a smooth evacuation process. On the other hand, selecting Fail Close underscores stringent security and controlled access, making it an ideal choice for high-security environments.

Fail Close option is the most common choice for access control. The lock is locked at all times and unlocking can be triggered by an intercom, push button, keypad, GSM/Wi-Fi device. The door can also be opened physically using the door lock key, even if there is no power supply.
